Taking the slow train to explore Italy’s Calabria region

I regularly work with The i Paper, pitching articles and also writing pieces as a travel correspondent based in Spain. For this article, I wanted to capitalise on new flight routes to Italy’s little-known Calabria region to write a novel piece that would inspire readers. Appealing to the increased interest in sustainable train travel and keeping readers’ budgets in mind, I found an alternative way to explore, pitching Calabria as the lesser-known Cinque Terre.
