Supporting Valencia through tourism after the floods

When floods hit Valencia in October 2024, the city became a byword for tragedy and devastation. Months later, the city’s tourism industry was still suffering at a time when it had finally been stepping into the spotlight as a desirable destination. As a freelance travel journalist, I pitched and crafted a Valencia travel guide for The Times. I interviewed businesses affected by the Dana and showcasing how money spent in the city helped support this interconnected community. It was an uplifting piece about the positive power of tourism.
